The only company that offers luxury double-decker buses with bathroom and live guides. Our 24 hours or 48 hours Hop-On, Hop Off tour has 21 stops in DC and the initial stop is at 478 L’ enfant Plaza, SW, Washington DC 20024. The buses pick up every 30-40 minutes, and for Arlington Cemetery we use a small van to transfer passengers from Lincoln memorial to Arlington Cemetery due to the weight restriction on the Memorial Bridge that won’t allow any vehicles over 20,000 pounds. Our Washington DC tours include Mount Vernon, Twilight Tour, a Grand Tour of all the major monuments, memorials, and of course the White House and Capitol, and several others. The service provided by DC Trails, Inc. includes the provision of sightseeing tours by passenger-carrying vehicles, and the arrangement of passenger carrying riverboats, and guided tours on foot.
TICKETS - Please keep your tickets or wristbands close by as replacements cannot by reissued. You must present or purchase your ticket as you board. You will not be permitted to use any of DC Trails’ services unless you have a valid ticket.
TICKETS/WRISTBANDS ARE NON-TRANSFERRABLE - Please hold on your ticket or wristband. If you lose your ticket/wristband, you will not be allowed to take the tour, unless you purchase another tour ticket. Passengers found traveling without a valid ticket will be charged the full tour ticket price or asked to leave the tour at the next stop.
CHILDREN - A child is defined as being aged 5-15 years. A child under the age of 5 may travel free of charge as long as they are accompanied by a dedicated adult and they do not occupy a seat to the exclusion of a fare-paying passenger. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all time.
DEPARTURE TIME - DC Trails endeavors to provide departure points and times for the service, which are accurate as possible. However, the Company reserves the right to vary such departure points and times without notice, as circumstances may require.
ROUTE - DC Trails reserves the right to deviate from the route of a service where reasonably prudent to do so in the light of circumstances beyond DC Trails’ control.
ALCOHOL – The consumption of alcohol is prohibited on the tour.
ACCIDENT OR LOSS - Please take care of person property while traveling at all times. DC Trails cannot be held liable for any loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to our employees’ negligence, in which case our liability is limited to damages (except for death or personal injury) to a maximum of the refund of the ticket price.
BUSES - DC Trails reserves the right, for safety reasons, to refuse you access to travel on a particular departure. For safety reasons, you are required to remain seated while the bus is in motion. Seating cannot be reserved.
BOATS - Sightseeing tours by riverboat are provided by a third-party tour boat company. Their terms and conditions shall apply while you are traveling on a riverboat, water taxi on a tour covered by any ticket issued by the Company.
ADA-WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE - DC Trails is committed to providing accessible transportation service to customers with special needs, and does not discriminate on basis of disability. All DC Trails buses used on this tour are accessible to individuals with a disability. However, please be advised that a segment of our Land & River Tour involves a water crossing in a boat not operated by DC Trails, which may not be accessible to all individuals with disabilities. If you have a disability, please contact DC Trails in advance of the trip so DC Trails can arrange for equivalent service for the water segment of the tour to make your tour as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
REFUNDS - Except in the event that DC Trails is unable to operate a service throughout the period of the validity of your ticket through circumstances totally within its control, you shall be entitled to a full or partial refund of the price of your ticket.
GENERAL CONDITIONS - DC Trails may, at our discretion, require any person to alight from a tour if we deem his/her conduct offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, or if behaving in such a way as to constitute a risk to his/her safety or to the safety of other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.
